Match Report

Cardiff's National Young Athletes' League team remains on course for a place in the area final after placing second to Rugby & Northampton in their third round match at Yeovil on 20th June.

Cardiff was initially placed third but a protest by team manager Andrew Seary resulted in the scores being corrected.

This correction made a big difference as it keeps Cardiff in fourth place overall in the division; only the first four progress to the final and these places will be decided by the accumulated totals of points scored in the four matches.

Everything will now depends on Cardiff scoring well in the fourth round match at Yate 18th July and we wish them well.

The match result at Yeovil was:

1. Rugby & Norhampton (616 points);  2. Cardiff (552);  3. Yate & District (458).

Cardiff's individual event winners were:

Under 13 boys:  Harry Hillman (100m & 200m & high jump);  Rhys Gooch (1500m).
