Schools' XC successes

There were successes for Cardiff AAC athletes that were representing Cardiff and the Vale schools in the Welsh Schools Cross Country Championships that were held at Penlan in Brecon on Saturday last, 27th February.

A heavy shower during the junior boys' race (winning team pictured) turned the course into a mudbath with many athletes losing shoes!

The Year 7 Cardiff and the Vale team were second. That team included Cardiff athletes Rhys Gooch (finished 8th) and Joe Macpherson (finished 20th)

The junior boys Cardiff and the Vale team were third. That team included Cardiff athletes Jack Gooch (1st place) John Cove (15th place) Ciaran Lewis (20th place) and  Jacob Preece (22nd place).

The middle boys team from Cardiff and the Vale won their race. This team included Cardiff athletes Mike Ward (6th place) Rory Heslop (12th place) and Elliot Slade (21st place).

The senior boys Cardiff and the Vale team finished in third place and the Cardiff athletes in this team were Ashleigh Harper (11th place) and Darren Jones (14th place).

The year 7 girls Cardiff and the Vale team finished third. The Cardiff athletes in that team were Alice Broadley (11th place) and Megan Tatnell (12th place).

The junior girls Cardiff and the Vale team won. The only Cardiff athlete in that successful team was Kate Seary who finished in an excellent 4th place .

The middle girls Cardiff and the Vale team  finished second. The Cardiff athletes were Bethan Daw (7th place) Majidah Harb (16th place) and Lucy Harvey (18th place).

The senior girls Cardiff and the Vale team finished second. The Cardiff athletes were Francesca Capel (17th  place) and Aimee Hendrickson (24th place)  .
