Elliot best in Britain

Yet another personal best and club record by Elliot Slade took him to the number one spot in the UK's under 17 rankings over 800m.


In the BMC event at Watford last night, Elliot, only 16, was timed at 1:51.80, almost 5 seconds better than his best at the beginning of this year.


At the same event, Joe Thomas completed his 800m in 1:48.90.


Cardiff's Commonwealth Games 800m finalist Gareth Warburton (pictured) has been drafted in to the Great Britain team contesting the European Team Championships in Stockholm this weekend.
