Para gold and fourth

Tuesday 18 July 2017

World record holder Aled Davies won his third F42 discus world title at the World Para Athletic Championships on Sunday when he set a championship record of 51.54m. He is the current world record holder and was the hot favourite for another gold.

Steve Morris just missed out on a medal last night, finishing fourth in the 1500m final.

Steve will also be competing in the 800m (first round on Friday with the final on Saturday) as well as the 5000m which will be run as a straight final on Sunday.

Aled will be the favourite for a second gold medal when he competes in the F42 shot put on Saturday next. Naturally he is the world record holder in this event also.

Good luck to both Steve and Aled.
