Interested in coaching?
Thursday 12 August 2010
All the best athletes need coaching and becoming a coach can be a very rewarding experience.
If you are interested in making a start in coaching, there is a programme of courses, to be held at Cardiff International Sports Stadium and organised by Welsh Athletics, that will suit you.
There are various categories to choose from, as follows:
Coaching Assistant: This will give you a grounding in the principles of coaching; it is a two day course open to those who are 18 or older and will be held on 11th and 12th September 2010.
Athletics Coach: The next step up the ladder from Coaching Assistant, this is a 4 day course, split into an initial two day session on 6th and 7th November 2010, followed by a further one day on 8th January and concluding with an assessment day on 12th March 2011.
Athletics Leader: If you are especially interested in helping younger children (under 11 to under 15), this could be ideal for you. Open to those 16 or older, this is a one day course on 6th November 2010.
Leader in Running Fitness: Again suitable for those interested in helping young children, this course is open to those 18 or older and offers a more specialised area.
If you are a member of Cardiff AAC and agree to use the knowledge gained within the club, we can help you with the costs.
Please contact Georgina Williams, the coaching co-ordinator for further information.
