Cardiff's European silver medallists Rhys Williams (pictured) and Christian Malcolm progressed safely from their first rounds earlier today in Delhi.

Rhys won his 400m hurdles heat in a comfortable 49.81 while Christian did what was necessary, coming second in his 200m heat in 21.14.

Swansea's Dai Greene also made sure of his place in the final, winning his heat in 49.98.

Brett Morse was below par in the qualification for the discus final, managing only 56.81m and qualifying for the final as one of the additional competitors.

Joe Thomas and Gareth Warburton will be contesting the semi finals of the 800m later today.

The final of the 400m hurdles and the semi finals and final of the 200m as well as the final of the discus will take place tomorrow, Sunday.
