This dramatic picture of Christian Malcolm and Christophe Lemaitre crossing the line in the final of the 200m in Barcelona was kindly provided by European Athletics.

The thickness of a vest, one hundredth of a second, separated Christian from the gold medal after he had led the race up to this point.
