This is the time of the year to review the performances of Cardiff's athletes against the best in the country.
Twenty seven Cardiff members featured in this year's UK top 20m lists across all the age groups.
Top of the tree was Christian Malcolm who was ranked No.1 in the men's 200m.
Rhys Wiliams (2nd), Ffion Bodilly (3rd) and Matthew Field (3rd) made the top three in their respective events and Elinor Lewis was 5th in the Under 20 women's pole vault.
Adam Bitchell and Jamaul Whyte each featured in three separate events.
The complete list is as follows.
Senior Men:
Christian Malcolm (200m - 1 & 100m - 15); Rhys Williams (400mH - 2); Gareth Warburton (800m - 5); Joe Thomas (800m - 9); James Thie (1,500m - 12); Alex Hains (10,000m - 10 & 5,000m - 17); Richie Gardiner (Marathon - 19); Dave Coleman (Discus - 18).
Senior Women:
Bryony Raine (Pole Vault - 6); Emily Brown (2,000m s/c - 11 & 3,000m s/c 13); Jessica Abrahams (Pole Vault - 13) ; Sara Barry (Triple Jump - 13); Emma Peters (400mH 14).
Under 20 Men:
Gareth Hopkins (200m - 8 & 100m - 15); Tom Knight (200m - 9); Adam Bitchell (1,500m - 9 & 3,000m - 7 & 5,000m - 9); Lewis Newton (Pole Vault - 13).
Under 20 Women:
Elinor Lewis (Pole Vault - 5); Rhiannon Yates (Long Jump - 6 & 100m - 10); Mica Moore (100m - 13 & 200m - 14).
Under 17 Men:
Matthew Field (Shot Put - 3 & Discus - 16); Jamaul Whyte (200m - 8 & 100m - 13 & High Jump - 17); Ryan Leonard (Javelin - 9 & Discus - 20).
Under 17 Women:
Ffion Bodilly (High Jump - 2); Megan O'Sullivan (Triple Jump - 8).
Under 15 Girls:
Olivia Evans (Pole Vault - 11); Sally Nicholas (Pole Vault - 16).
Under 15 Boys:
Although nobody made the top twenty, Jac Palmer (Hammer - 21) and Matteo Holmes (Hammer - 29) kept the flag flying in this age group.
Congratulations to all those featured and good luck for even better in 2011. Hopefully other Cardiff athletes will be inspired to emulate these achievements and to make it into Welsh and UK rankings in the future.
