Welsh record for Matthew

Cardiff's Matthew Field set a new Welsh under 17 record for the shot put during the Carmarthen Throws Competition held last night, Thursday 28th July. Matthew's throw of 17.26m improved the existing record of 16.93m which was set by Mark Hewer (also a Cardiff AAC athlete) in 1979. The new mark is also a club under 17 record.

Matthew also threw the discus 50.62m just short of his pb of 51.12m
