Last Sunday the 4th Youth Development meeting took place at Yate for upper age groups (17/20). The teem was weaken by absentees due to holidays etc. A shooting meeting was taking place near track that cause sprinters to fault start. Although they were allowed to start again, the team points were not taken into account for the match. A club protest has been made as the fault start was not the athletes fault. Many athletes covered a number of events to help team match points.

Cardiff Throws 6 Thursday 4 July 2019

Arrived at stadium 6.45pm for our club's monthly meeting on Tuesday evening. Academy was well under way, noticed football coaches were on grass with balls etc. Carried on walking to throwing area at back of stadium. Was surprised by number of athletes, coaches and officials and WA's staff present, lovelly weather and it's an invitation on line only event. T&F is my first interest, closely followed by XC and Road. Immediately got involved in discussion with Adrian Palmer who was observing the performances. One important point he made was that the club should take interest in these events, can see a number of reasons why this should happen. A number of pb performances were achieved. Brett Morse threw 55.48m, good practce for BAL match on Saturday. See Cardiff's throwers results below.

Cardiff Athletics T&F Teams Monday 1 July 2019

In the last week of June Cardiff Athletics teams were out in force at different venues and age groups.

YDL (Lower Age groups) Yate 23rd June

Our YDL team U15/U13 had a tough match finishing 4th of 6 teams. Cardiff team finished 4th after 3 matches. Results  showed we lost points due to lack of officials, and was weak in field events. On the track, team scored more points than the other teams. A new club record was broken by the girls in the 4x300 with 2.58.60 breaking the current record (2016) by 0.10 tenths of a second. Club records are not easily broken. Team: Jemima Robinson: Francesca Morgan: Sophie Evans: Evie Watkins, well done girls, and to ALL who took part in Cardiff team.
