A run (or walk) in the park
Monday 26 October 2009
Do you know what PARKRUN is?
If you are not a dedicated runner (or even if you are) and fancy an easy run in beautiful surroundings, you should give PARKRUN a try.
There is one in Cardiff every Saturday morning through Blackweir. There is no barrier to age, ability or shape and it is free to enter.
Plenty of Cardiff members of all ages take part so you are sure to meet someone of like interest.
PARKRUN organises free, weekly, 5km timed runs around the world. They are open to everyone, free, and are safe and easy to take part in.
These events take place in pleasant parkland surroundings and we encourage people of every ability to take part; from those taking their first steps in running to Olympians; from juniors to those with more experience; we welcome you all.
For more information go to PARKRUN's website which is crammed with information as well as results and pictures from the Cardiff events. As next Saturday is 31st October and Halloweeen, runners are being dared to turn up in fancy dress.
The PARKRUN website for Cardiff is http://www.parkrun.org.uk/cardiff/Home.aspx.
Give it a try.
