Welcome to Wales' Premier Athletic Club

Important weekend

Friday 2 July 2010

Tomorrow, Saturday 3rd July, the club's British League team travels to Sheffield for this year's second round match while the UK Women's League team will be in Bedford the same day, also for the second round match.

Both teams are in a strong position after the first round matches in Cardiff on 5th June and will be looking to consolidate promotion bids.

The men's team finished in a fine second place in its first match and team manager James Williams is quietly confident that he can field a good team again. In an interview given to the British League, James described the trials and tribulations of being a team manager and why the Cardiff team is currently doing so well and, after clinching promotion last season, has a chance of immediate promotion again to the Premiership division.

You can read the interview at BAL INTERVIEW.

The ladies made an exceptional start by winning in Cardiff and will need a strong team to repeat this in Liverpool. Team manager Debbie Rees, in her first season in the role (she was a brilliant club captain for eight years) has made an excellent start and both teams are back in the top flight.

Good luck to both teams this weekend.
