Joe and Gareth in final

Joe Thomas and Gareth Warburton have both brilliantly qualified for the final of the Commonwealth Games 800m to be held tomorrow.

With three automatic qualifiers from each semi final and facing formidable competition, especially from the Kenyans, Joe eased into third place with 1:47.22 while Gareth (pictured) clocked 1:46.83 (just outside his pb of 1:46.47) also in third place.

These are excellent performances and augur well for good runs in the final.

Christian Malcolm won his second round 200m in 20.93 for a place in tomorrow's semi final.
