Road success at Aberdare

Today, Sunday 27 June, three young Cardiff AAC athletes took advantage of a weekend with no track events for them to travel up to Aberdare to take part in the Aberdare road races.

The successful athletes (pictured with their awards) were Tom Edmunds, first in the under 15 boys, Ciaran Lewis, second in the under 15 boys and Emma Ligthart who was first in the under 13 girls

The races were held over 3000m for junior athletes on an undulating tarmac path, which included one very steep hill that had to tackled twice over the two lap course.

It was a very hot day but the large trees in the park offered some shade.
